Get thee hence, Satan! (Aug 29, 2016)

August 29, 2016

"Get thee hence, Satan"

Hey Everyone!!

My pday is now Monday! And it will be for the duration of my time serving in Blue Springs 2nd!!

So these past few days have been a whirlwind, and ill be honest, probably been some of the hardest days I have encountered!

Sister Taylor and I have been off to a rocky start. But we really feel like Satan is getting to us. He is working so hard on us and it is so exhausting to not just give in or give up.

These past few days though I just want to share how thankful I am for the power of the priesthood, my mission president, my VC family, and the power of prayer.

August 25, 2016

Well to say this week has been a whirlwind would be an understatement.

But I got big news.

Last Friday I was called to be a trainer. At the ripe young missionary
age of 6 weeks!!

Whats good fam?! Guess what i made it to 2 MONTHS in the mission field!!! Transfers are next week!!! craziness. lots of other sisters are saying that they think i will be a six week trainer. meaning i will train one of the newby's this next transfer. yeahokay God wouldnt do that to a new sister. that would be a train wreck ... haha. But the APs did text us yesterday and asked if i had my driving card yet......

Ask and ye shall RECEIVE!! (Aug 10, 2016)

It's pday already?!?! Lol our pday is a day sooner this week because
we have zone conference the next couple days- YAAA!! Spiritual
nourishment to the max!!

So this week was like super super awesome in a ton of ways. Friday we
had zone training and it was soooo good. I love my ZOne leaders and
sister leaders. They are sooo awesome!! We talked a ton about patience
and faith and how we can see miracles in the mission.
I kind of had the spirit rebuke me throughout the training and I
really just realized that I needed to be more loving. I just had this
huge epiphany revelation moment where I realized that I needed to have
unconditional love. For my companion and for just anyone who I came in
co tact with. Christ loved everyone as they are, never expecting
anything in return. So I am working on that. And that's something I
had been praying for was more charity and love -- and God answers
prayers!!!

Tender Mercies of the Lord (Aug 4, 2016)

This week was good! I had a few awesome and uplifting experiences. Fridays we always have early morning trainings for the VC and this past week was especially great, and especially needed. We keep being brought back to all the Elder Anderson said to us about our mission and the miracles that await us as we put forth the faith and diligence and prayer to pull down those powers of heaven. So here are some great miracles:

Welcome to Zion everybody! (July 21, 2016)

July 21

So I made it to the mission field!! I am here in independence Missouri
and it's awesome!! There were about 25 new missionaries that came here
with me so I sat by all missionaries on the plane.
The first day we all got tours of each visitors center and went and
walked around the KC temple!! It was so cool and the spirit is so
strong here!!

Still weird to think that I'm actually here in Missouri. A lot of the
mornings I wake up and I have no idea where I am. Also getting up and
exercising is he worst part of my day. The exercises good I actually
work out but I hate waking up. I feel like I always lay down and about
a second later the alarm goes off.

So this week was super awesome!!! we got to celebrate the fourth of july last saturday hahah but they called it the "International Freedom Celebration" haha we were celebrating the freedom of religion that lets us go on missions and the restoration. the newsletter for the week said that we were allowed to stay out past 10:30 and "ponder on the restoration" as we watched fireworks from the stadium of fire in the parking lot of the MTC. hahah it was so fun!! we all wore red white and blue and sang patriotic songs ALL DAAYY. we also had a huge awesome game of kickball for exercise time with our whole zone and all our elders before they would leave! it was an awesome day ahha we actually stayed out till ike 11!! cus we had a devotional about how the world was being prepared for the restoration and freedom and stuff and then went out to watch fireworks. sooo yeah sunday the next day we definitely slept in till like 6:50lol. hahah

Faith it 'til you make it (July 1, 2016)

July 1, 2016

Hello everyone!!! This week testified that missionary work is a roller coaster!! It was kind of a rough week but we still had fun and taught the gospel and stuff :)

On Saturday we were able to attend the temple before it closed until the end of time. We went with our district earlier in the day than the rest of our zone because our elders were  meeting their mission president and couldn't go later so we went with them. We all fell asleep. hahah it was still a great experienc though. The temple is so rejuvinating :) we also had like 3 hours of personal study time by ourselves and kind of didnt know what to do with ourselves so we read lots of talks and the book of mormon and even watched some of the district after about 2 and a half hours in haha. We also had a chips and salsa and donuts party with our elders (because we all ahve so much food hahah it was fun. i love them)

June 24, 2016

Hi friends and family!!! I have officially been here 9 days!!

When everyone says just make it till sunday, that is such a real thing, let me tell you. Once it was monday, time just flew by! i cant believe its already friday!!!

i am having so much fun!! the temple on my last pday was an amazing experience!! so cool to be there as a missionary. and have them literally pray for you there.

Saturday was a hard day. we had a hard PI lesson (teacher as investigator) and we got asked hard questions and then we were comparing to the other lessons. Anyway it was a frustrating discrouaging day in the morning, but what i learned is that whenever im feeling bad or anything, my comps are almost always feeling the exact same way. we were all upset and just had to have a good cry. also my teacher here, Sis Smyth is an angel. i love her so much. she talked to us and encouraged us and the rest of the day was amazing :)

EVERYONE THE MTC IS THE BEST PLACE ON THE PLANET!!! second to the temple. but President hinckley said the MTC is an extension of the temple SOOOO

oh wow the past two days have seriously felt like FOREVER. its really funny because people ask and we're like oh we got here wednesday, but everyday feels like 3 days put into one. (but yes so my p-day is friday)

I have learned so much already!!! I love it because they let you just jump immediately missionary work!!! My first day was such a whirlwind and it was really hard saying bye to family and i was really nervous, but i quickly realized that you are literally not alone EVER!! and what a sweet angel old sister said to me was that "the hardest part is over" which is so true!! we can only go up from here!!

Dear Sister Bleak,

"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.
And in that day shall ye say: Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted."
2 Nephi 22: 2,4
